n October 8th at 9PM, two third party candidates were arrested for attempting to enter the Washington University complex holding the second presidential debate. The candidates, Michael Badnarik of the Libertarian Party and David Cobb of the Green Party, chose civil disobedience to fight the bipartisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). Over half of Americans believe third party candidates should be included, yet politicians continue to funnel public funds into the bi-partisan Commission. S.W.A.T. teams were used to deny the will of the American people while mainstream media ignored this historic event, a shameless suppression of political diversity. Americans deserve to know about the unjust takeover of our political process. I posted this to take matters into my own hands. If you believe that real democracy thrives on diverse political voices and that it’s time to use alternative methods to support these voices, post this in your Xanga, profile, or Livejournal, or e-mail it to those who care. Been A while
On August 31st I ordered the new iMac. So at the time I started moving everything I had to external drives so that my wife could use the Powerbook I've used for so long. Of course, it's now September 26th and my new iMac has yet to ship. So I've put everything on her old iMac and left her with the Powerbook. I'd wanted to wait to install stuff until I got the new iMac but it's just been such a long time that I thought I'd better get this running again. Plus I saw that that the new iMac has some software migration tools, so we'll see how that goes. Current Mood: apatheticCurrent Music: Some Fantastic-Barenaked Ladies-Stunt |

XM PCR is cool
If you've not seen the recent hubub about the XM PCR I'd suggest you find one and snag it for your PC running any OS. There are several open source projects out there for Linux, Mac OS, as well as the included Windows software. I grabbed one after reading about the Time Trax thing where someone wrote a TiVo like code to control and record shows. Anyway. I picked one up, and now apparently they are selling like mad and on eBay going for higher prices now that the rumor is that XM killed it to stop people from recording stuff so easily. Kinda a bummer, it's a great little device Current Mood: awakeCurrent Music: Pink-Catch Me While I'm Sleeping |

I think I may wash the car for the first time since I bought it. Stark contrast to what I used to do with my old car, every weekend. Just need to get myself motivated to start moving, so that'll take a bit Current Mood: groggyCurrent Music: Pink-Catch Me While I'm Sleeping |

New Fish Maybe
Going to go to the pet stores today and see if I can find another fish for the tank. Hope to find a nice dwarf angel probably like the Regal. I may even get a second Fire angel since the first one was killed by the rockslide I had. Also should probably work on getting the piping for my SCWD and pump I bought for better water circulation.
